This project incorporated three timber frames.  One is a new 32’x36’ barn frame.  One is a re-assembled antique cape. And one is a new 16’x24’ frame cut from antique timber.  We basically recreated a connected farmstead.

With full tie and plates, the barn frame incorporates the English Tying Joint.  The 16’x24’ frame is salvaged timber tied with a wedged dovetail.  The circa 1789 cape is 28’x38’.  Much of the timber in the cape is Chestnut.
